November 2009.
Location: entrance hall Fioretti College Veghel.
What is there to see
More than 1300 portraits of students and staff at the school are projected randomly on the 3 paintings. The faces originate as sketched lines. When the portrait is finished, the picture of the person appears very briefly. Then the construction of a new drawing begins.
In addition, there is a the small panel, named 'time-circle'. On this it is possible to see what time of day it is:
during the lessons > a spinning flower; between classes > a running figure; during breaks > a guitar player in the short break, an eater during lunch break. Before and after school a cyclist fills the circle.
Technology
The portraits are drawn in lines and recorded in an XML database. This produces a collection of more than 3 million lines.
A digital artwork with a lot of old-fashioned crafts. Every autumn this work was updated, old students off, new ones added!
